We collect only the essential personal details required to create your client account, process and deliver handcrafted textile orders, and provide dedicated concierge support.
- Account Profile: First name, last name, verified email address, contact telephone number, and secure hashed authentication credentials.
- Fulfillment & Shipping: Recipient name, complete shipping address, postal PIN code, state, city, landmark, and delivery telephone number for courier coordination.
- Transactional History: Curated textile items purchased, variant specifications, order timestamps, payment status, and invoices.
- Restock Waitlist: Registered patron email address when voluntarily opting into restock notifications for out-of-stock artisanal pieces.
- Concierge Communications: Inquiries, return authorizations, and customer care correspondence submitted via email or contact forms.
Essential Technical & Security Information
- IP address, browser type, and operating system profile strictly used to secure your session, prevent automated fraud, and diagnose technical errors.
- Cryptographic session tokens (makkmal.accessToken and makkmal.refreshToken) stored in local browser storage to keep your private client account securely authenticated.
- Temporary functional storage preserving your active cart, recently viewed collections, and cookie consent preferences.

What We Never Collect or Store
Your financial peace of mind is paramount. MAKKMAL adheres to strict data minimization principles:
- Payment Credentials: We never collect, process, or store credit/debit card numbers, CVV security codes, UPI PINs, or net banking passwords on our servers.
- Advertising Data Brokers: We do not partner with third-party marketing networks, behavioral advertising brokers, or cross-site tracking corporations.
- Invasive Device Telemetry: We do not access contacts, microphones, camera streams, device storage, or unrelated browser tabs.

Payment Security & Gateway Compliance
All online payments on MAKKMAL are processed through Reserve Bank of India (RBI) authorized, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateways (Razorpay).
When you initiate checkout, payment details are transmitted directly to the regulated payment gateway over end-to-end 256-bit TLS/SSL encrypted channels. MAKKMAL only receives an encrypted transaction identifier and verification status confirming the successful placement of your order.
For Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, payment is collected in cash or via mobile UPI upon physical parcel delivery by our authorized courier partner.

How We Use Information
We use personal information strictly for legitimate operational and fulfillment needs:
- Fulfilling, packaging, and dispatching your handcrafted Jaipur bedding and bath textiles.
- Sending essential transactional communications, including order confirmations, dispatch tracking links, and digital GST invoices via Email.
- Notifying authenticated patrons when a requested out-of-stock textile piece returns to our atelier waitlist.
- Processing legitimate size exchanges, quality inspections, and source refunds.
- Safeguarding storefront integrity, preventing payment fraud, and mitigating cyber threats.
- Fulfilling statutory tax, legal, and accounting record-keeping requirements under applicable Indian laws.

Strict No-Sale and Data Sharing Restrictions
MAKKMAL does not sell, license, trade, or rent personal information to external commercial entities under any circumstances.
We share data exclusively with authorized operational service providers bound by strict confidentiality obligations:
- Logistics & Courier Partners: Premier domestic carriers (Blue Dart, Delhivery, Expressbees) receive your name, address, and phone number solely to deliver and track your shipment.
- Payment Gateways: Razorpay, strictly for processing your authorized financial transaction.
- Transactional Email Infrastructure: Encrypted enterprise mail servers for dispatching order confirmations and account security alerts.
- Regulatory & Legal Authorities: Disclosures made solely where mandated by law, court order, or official governmental directive in India.

Data Security & Storage Protections
MAKKMAL maintains rigorous administrative, technical, and architectural safeguards to protect customer records against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.
All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using modern TLS 1.3 cryptography. Account passwords are encrypted using one-way cryptographic hashing (scrypt / Argon2) and are never retrievable in plaintext. Internal database access is restricted to authenticated engineering and fulfillment personnel through multi-factor authentication.

Your Rights and Account Choices
You hold complete sovereignty over your personal data. At any time, you may:
- Access and update your profile, email address, and saved shipping destinations in your Client Account settings.
- Request a complete copy of your personal transactional records by emailing support@makkmal.com.
- Request the permanent deletion of your client account and associated data, subject only to mandatory statutory tax and accounting retention requirements.
