Each piece in the MAKKMAL collection is born in the ateliers of Jaipur, where fourth-generation artisans press century-old carved teak woodblocks onto hand-washed, long-staple organic cotton. The natural dyes — drawn from indigo, pomegranate rind, and turmeric — are fixed without synthetic mordants, so every motif deepens in character with every wash. Sourced exclusively from Rajasthan's certified organic cotton farms, the fabric carries zero harmful residues, making it as safe for sensitive skin as it is for the planet.
Fabric Care & Natural Dye Longevity
Machine wash cold (30 °C) on a gentle cycle using a mild, pH-neutral detergent — hot water accelerates colour migration in natural dyes. Dry in shade rather than direct sunlight to preserve the vibrancy of hand-block print pigments; tumble dry on low if needed. Never bleach: oxygen or chlorine bleach degrades both the organic cotton fibre and the plant-based dye molecules. Iron inside-out on medium heat while slightly damp for a crisp finish. The percale weave softens naturally with each wash, reaching peak hand-feel after the third laundering.
